		<description>The vast majority is against gay marriage.  Every state that has had a vote of the people, has voted against gay marriage.  Marriage is to produce, protect, and raise children.  Gays cannot have their own children.  Any child of gays has been denied his or her fundamental right, recognized under the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (which &gt;190 countries including the US has signed), to know and be raised by his or her mother and father.

Does Vermont allow for a constitutional amendment via vote by the people, like California does?</description>
